YOUTH 2000 SUMMER FESTIVAL Ampleforth Abbey, York, Friday, 22nd August, 3:00pm to Monday, 25th August, 2:00pm. Open to young adults (16-35) in Aberdeen Diocese irrespective of their parish. Taking place in this great Year of Jubilee, the Summer Festival will be a chance for young adults to encounter Jesus as our hope, the One who brings light to even the darkest places, illuminating every aspect of our lives. CITY JUBILEE PILGRIMAGE MASS 16TH AUGUST 2025: As part of our Jubilee of Hope celebrations, everyone is invited to join for this celebration with Bishop Hugh. Parishes will be making a pilgrim walk from their parish churches to the Cathedral in order to arrive at 11.30am or earlier. Timetable 11:00 Confessions; 11:30 Rosary & Confessions; 12:00 Pilgrimage Mass with the Bishop. PILGRIM WALK: 10:00 – gathering in front of the church, 10:15 – pilgrim walk to the Cathedral (Provost Watt Drive – Great Southern Road – Whinhill Road – Bon-Accord Street – Union Street – Huntly Street)
MONASTIC EXPERIENCE WEEKEND: Friday 22nd to Monday 25th August. The community of Benedictine monks at Pluscarden Abbey offer this special opportunity for participants to experience what monastic life is all about. The opportunity is suitable for single men who are Catholic, practise their faith, are aged 18-40, and at least open to the possibility of considering a monastic vocation.
